I would like to know which other tools i can use besides top & sar to track the system resources
i heard of somthing that sounds like acamdmin or acsadm...

You didn't post what OS but the only mention of acsadm was on a SCO box so try this link to a utility that you can pick up for free. Otherwise, most montioring/reporting tools are very high in cost$$$.
Top, sar, iostat, vmstat, ps, .... you can write a script or Perl/C program to look at the same or gather the data - it's all in how to evaluate the data.
