how to get new password of user from change password login screen to use same password for changing other applications password.
There is an 15 days expiry policy.
user is required to change ldap password after 15 days
when user enters new password for changing password i want to capture that and use that password for other applications(web based).
It might be better for your web app to verify its passwords against the system itself(using PAM, probably) instead of hacking in what amounts to a security exploit into it.
Agreed, "capturing" the password is fraught with issues, as a system admin. I can say I do not know my users passwords, with your suggestion the trust in you by your users would be broken. As Corona68 has said get your applications to use the same LDAP authentication source that Ubuntu is using instead.
