Since I'm a windows user and learning Unix by myself. Would like to be a Unix certified but doubt how? Please advice how to become a Unix certified and is it hard to seat for the exam. The demand for Unix administrator pay is very high. How about oracle is it easy to study too?
Please advice as I am new learner for both.

Which UNIX? There are different courses for AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, and Linux (that I know of). Most are geared towards intermediate users who already know their way around the command line.
The Oracle DBA courses (at least those that I attended) require you to know the command line, and the basic structure of UNIX-like OS' pretty well, especially the parts about disaster recovery.

For you are qualify as a Solaris Admin, you need to take two exams. One for the first part and another for second. You can check the syallubus online for the different parts.

google search. there are plenty of resources out there. there are also books you can purchase.
I recommend Bill Calkins books - Exam Prep Solaris 10 System Administration Part 1 and Part 11.
Most usually go through college to obtain ( computer science that is ). Me for example though, I am in school to obtain my Sun Solaris Administration Certification. That is how I plan on becoming a big Unix Admin, along with trying to gain experience. Going to work on getting my Linux certs as well. hopefully it all works out..
