I'm thinking of buying a UPS, does Solaris have any software builting to detect when a system goes into UPS dependency, or would the best best to use some software provided by APC or some other UPS vendor...?
If you purchase a APC ups, you should get (or be able to get) the powerchute software for Solaris - there is a 'special' cable required to connect to console if I remember correctly.
