length of the string can vary.. I have to keep the token inside a array and the delimiter is : plz send me the code
Given that you've just read "affect a exploded a string into an array", you should have found what you are looking for. It pays to search the Forums before asking.
And please don't just ask "plz send me the code". It's not nice.
Besides, you still haven't answered my question here, you only said you're new to UNIX.
