This might be pretty simple.

  1. I need a script that will help me count the number of characters of a filename and generate an output as follows

Filename count
ALSAP-016A_R20030413_LDN_DST_MLL_GRN_BS.DLIS 44
ALSAP-016A_R20030413_LDN_DST_MLL_GRN_BS6.DLIS 45
ALSAP-016A_R20030413_LDN_DST_MLL_BS.DLIS 40
