None of their sites is currently available, for some reason. You may consider installing proftpd - much more secure, flexible, and extensible.

You can try the following two links:
[CentOS] wu-ftpd, proftpd, or vsftpd!
but I would agree with sysgate, you should opt for Proftpd, I use it.

I would second proftpd if only for the virtual ftp sites 
Sorry Guys for responding little late got very busy at work.
At last I have installed wu-ftpd on freebsd 4.10 Everything is working fine.
Yes if using linux is good idea to go with proftpd or vsftpd.
