What is volume in ufsrestore

Can you guys please explain what is volume in ufsrestore?

I just scanned the man page. It is using volumes to refer to tapes. Let's say that you saved / to tape. It might easily fit and not use too much tape. So next you save /bigdata to the same tape. Well let's say it won't all fit on that tape. So you mount a 2nd tape. It fills all of that tape and still wants more. So you use a 3rd tape to get the rest. You now say that /bigdata required 3 volumes.
