VPN Connection Problem using OpenVPN

This is a Fedora 31 kernel 5.5.6-201.fc31.x86_64 vpn connection problem. Up until a few days ago I was successfully using a VPN provider utilizing multiple global servers. My protocol is OpenVPN and NetworkManager-openvpn-gnome. Suddenly I can't connect from my desktop although my smartphone, laptop and other desktops in the house continue to connect successfully. The account is current and the username and password are valid as per the provider. I have uninstalled and reinstalled openvpn, O-N-G and updated all the ovpn files for the provider. I am baffled what is preventing the connection. Any insights would be greatly appreciated since I am at the end of any ideas and the provider's tech support is completely useless. Thanks in advance.

You're not saying whether there are any errors logged by the system. It would be really useful if you can post what the system log says when the VPN connection fails.

Being a Fedora distro it won't have the typical syslog file but I believe that you can translate the digital log live via a terminal using

sudo journalctl -f

(The -f switch here means 'follow')

After opening a terminal and running this command try to connect to the VPN. Watch the terminal to see if it tells you the reason for the failure.

Thanks for the quick response. The journalctl tool is certainly powerful and useful. I'll have to spend some time learning its tricks. Here is the output:

I can see it is timing out but can't see why this is happening all of a sudden.

Can you confirm that this problem is confined just to the VPN connection?

Can you connect from this machine to other nodes on your LAN?

Can you connect to nodes outside your LAN (via gateway)? e.g. Internet connection works?
Also, you can connect to other sites using secure sockets from this machine? e.g. unix.com

So the VPN is the only connection with an issue????

No problems with web access, email, https, networking tools like ping, traceroute, VOIP. In fact, maybe that has something to do with it. I recently established VOIP in the house and had a heck of a time trying to utilize the wireless features of the phone adapter/repeater/router. Ended up giving up and going with the ethernet wired feature just to get phone service back. Any correlation between that problem and this VPN timing problem?
