Hi,
I have installed FreeBSD in coexistance with windoze...now i want to uninstall it!how can i do that?
Is it possible to just format the partition it was on ( problem with this i thing is that BootManager resides on the disk...how to fix this problem?!!!)
thank you for help
mohamed
You can use FDISK to remove the bootloader
FDISK /mbr
but suppose i removed the boot loader...am i sure that i will be able after that booting on my old windoze system?
thanks
If you use fdisk /mbr and if the windows partition is set active, the you can be sure that it is going to boot
do you know how to set partition as active?
thank you!
i assume you mean you wish windows to remain?
re-run the widnows install disk, and retain your existing files.
a preparatory Back-Up is highly recommended.
windows 'should' pre-empt all data and overwrite the MBR.

Start fdisk from your ms-dos boot disk and you'll see. It's very simple...
hi everybody
i have tested "fdisk /mbr". I have a problem!
when rebooting i have this "awful" message on a blank screen:
" Missing Operating System"
thank you for help!
You're OS is windows9x, right ? If so, start your computer with your boot disk and try "sys c:". In case that your OS is Windows2k/xp/2k3 you have to start your computer with the install cd and try to repair it.
