hello newbie trying to install neither rhel4 or 5 on Proliant ML150 G6 i have configured the RAID on 1+0 the RAID controller of this sistem is HP SmartArray P410 have downloaded the driver disc from hp and executed the commands as the web page indicate
gunzip cpq_cciss-3.6.22-8.rhel5.x86_64.dd.gzip
dd if=cpq_cciss-3.6.22-8.rhel5.x86_64.dd of=/dev/sdb bs=1440k
sdb its the usd floppy disc
start rh install. then on prompt type
linux dd
then it seems load drives but then it shows an err saying that coudnt find drivers, this did not happpen with rhel5 but it shows that can not find devices, any idea what am doing wrong
I do not believe you need the drivers for the device for RHEL5. We are using RHEL5 with the same controller and do not need the drivers. Also, if you are using a RAID array, you will not have a defined /dev/sdb. You will have a /dev/cciss0.
Try to install RHEL5 without any special machinations.
The problem its that i first try to install using the normal operation but it seems it can not detect any becose it start asking me for a driver, ill send the exact message as soon as posible.
Hi, i had the same problem, with ML110 G6, when i try to install a SME 7.4 (Centos 4.3 Based version).
The Bios accept 4 Configuration for HDD
- Compatible (it means PATA Configuration with 4 devices)
- AHCI
- RAID
- Disabled
The mother board had 6x SATA Connectors, 4 Black 0-3 and 2 Blue 4-5
0-3 means Compatible ou AHCI, for me
4-5 means RAID, for me
I Try to install the SME on Compatiple Mode, but, not CD and HDD found
I Try too with AHCI, and same trouble
With Raid, i can't create Array, no Bios Menu ou 3rd Party Bios on boot.
I boot on HP cd, but every time, it said, that no Raid Controller found ...
Where i can found a Compatible or AHCi Floppy Driver ?
