The HP-UX Porting and Archive Centre

If you're looking for an easy source of free software for HP-UX, look no further. A consortium of major universities and HP user groups have banded together and operate what is simply the finest free software site in existence.

The world's best HP-UX software engineers have ported each package to each version of HP-UX. Each ported package is then peer reviewed and tested on many differing HP configurations. The result is free software that has been subjected to levels of quality assurance that few software vendors can match.

All of the famous public domain and GNU packages are here. So are many packages unique to the Centre. Porting software to HP-UX can be a challenge, but all of the work has been done for you, so you can download pre-compiled binaries that will install easily with the standard HP-UX utilities.

The Centre operates many mirror sites around the world. Please try to select one on the same continent as you.

I deleted the Italy link which is no longer listed as a mirror. I also deleted the Wisconsin link which has given me a page stating that it's down for several months. And I updated the Netherlands link which had changed.

I could not connect to either the South Africa nor Japan links. I did verify that I have the official links for these sites. I will leave them for now.

The South Africa link is now working fine. The Japan link continues to fail so I will delete it. I had trouble connecting to the France link... I will leave it for now and recheck it later.

The Utah link just gives a message saying the archive is under repair. I will leave it.
Deleting the French link.
The German and South African links are not currently responding. I will leave them for now.
