Tail for multiple files

Hi there, I'm trying to run a simple command in Solaris 10:

tail -10 *.log

But this gives me in the output just last 10 rows of a SINGLE log file  (and there are many in active directory).
Please, do you have any idea what's the problem? Is it a Solaris issue?

Thank you in advance.

Martin

You need to use the Gnu tail version that allows multiple file processing.

In OpenSolaris, it is /usr/gnu/tail. I don't think it is bundled with Solaris 10 but you might find a binary or build it from source.

Hello, thank you for your answer, it is really helpful, although I cannot use gnu tail now... but at least I know the reason:) I'll make a script which will go through directory files and for each it will display last ten rows.
That will make it.
Have a nice day!
