Spindown is a daemon to spin down idle disks andthus save energy and give the disks a longerlifetime. It also works with USB disks andhot-swappable disks because it uses the device IDto identify the disk instead of the device name(such as hda or sdb). The command configuration options now expect thewhole command to execute and not just only theparameters. It still defaults to "sg_start--stop". Gentoo init scripts were added. The FIFOis removed when shutting down the program.
