Solaris Zone : Non global Zone check failed

Hi All ,

I try to install some packages in my global zone...

On the execution of the installion of the script it quits by saying the error
"Non global zone check failed"

Kindly help me in this regard

Thanks in advance,
jeganr

You seem to have a zone in bad shape. To install a package in the global zone (only), use the "-G" option.

what are you trying to install and how? please give in- and output of terminal. also please describe your setup... lobal zone, how much local zones... and so on.

Hi duke,

Pl find the below error message on running

install script.

it looks like the package you are trying to patch is not installed or the package info is not available... have a look at the mentioned path.

/var/sadm/pkg/file1/pkginfo
.......................^
............this looks strange?!

also there is a newer patch of 137871 available (137871-02). as i can see you are using tlp to check for patches so this might be alright... but EIS-CD is nearly 6 months old, so you maybe want to use a newer one?!

and as also mentioned, if the patch is only for the global zone, use the "-G" option for patchadd.

Hi duke,

Any ideas on how to work on this scenario if a file is not present.

And also i need to patch for local zones also....

Any ideas...

reinstall the software that is missing... but this is too complex to solve something like this remote. you use EIS, so you have a service contract with sun!? open a case at sun and let them have a look at your configuration.

Hi Duke,

resintall the software means ., which one this patch or anything else.

and also can we by pass and go without checking Non global zones...

Is this the common error or had u seen it before....
