Have a Netra 210 server running Solaris 9 and Avaya CMS software and we redirected the local console to the remote console and now can't dial into the remote console. Can't get back to the local console either.
So we are "locked out" and need help with any tips on how to reset the remote console or the server back to the local console.
Rebooting doesn't fix it but I know there is a trick. Thanks
ALOM is, as google will tell you, Advanced Lights Out Manager. It's the system controller, or a form of BIOS. Connection methods differ slightly by hardware. You can download the ALOM manual in PDF or HTML format from Sun's website. That will give you step by step instruction to connect to ALOM. Once you're connected the 'bootmode reset_nvram' command will do exactly what is says, set the boot mode to reset nvram thereby restoring the default settings.
