Solaris 9 & JetDirect

I'm working on a Solaris 9 Sun Blade and could do with some tips.

I've been told JetDirect is already installed and running on this machine.

There are two laser printers currently functioning off this machine and I can see entries for both in /etc/hosts with fixed IP's as netprinter1 & netprinter2.

But..

(1) How do I know for sure if JetAdmin or JetDirect is installed?

I've checked the interweb for some pointers but with little success. I have looked in /opt but there is no "hpnp" present. I've tried running "hppi" and nothing happens, I've tried running /usr/bin/jetadmin and again nothing...

(2) Assuming it is how do I start it?

Any help would be much apprciated ...

Ken.

Ooo, you can still grab the software here:

HP JD Printer Installer for Solaris- Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center

The default install location is /opt/. You can run `pkginfo |egrep "HP|SOL"` to see if it's installed. I know support for it died a long time ago, but it was always nice to use.

Ew, I just installed it and it changed /usr and /usr/bin to 775 :frowning: Silly package. With the version I got (SOLe134.PKG), you run /opt/hpnpl/hppi.
