Solaris 8 on v480 & v490

Hello,

Can any kind soul please answer this? I want to boot a SunFire v490 with a dvd image we use to boot v480's. Is this possible? Are there caveats to doing this?

depends on the cpus used in the v490 and the solaris 8 version you are using.

solaris 8 2/04 is the minimum version you need and 1.5 or 1.8 ghz cpus are not supported with solaris 8.
