Solaris 2.5.1 and 2.6 OE CD and later HW releases

Hi Folks,

New to the list/forum but not new to Solaris (Unix/Linux etc) been with it since 1991 or so :).. and my favorite little box is a small lunchbox IPX with upgraded motherboard (110MHz MicroSparc), RasterFlex32 24bit framebuffer... It's a sweet little one -- took two weeks to set up a double compile GCC enviorment running at 100% CPU load but she is still going strong...

Anyways over to the problem:

Need Solaris 2.5.1 HW 11/97 and 2.6 HW 5/98 but I'm also in need of the updated OE CD's i.e. "CD0" to be able to run on Ultra 420R and Ultra 80

The extract of CD releases I need are:

Installation of Solaris 2.5.1 or Solaris 2.6 on Ultra 80/E420R's requires
the use of:

Solaris Operating Environment Installation CD, aka "CD0"

There have been 4 releases of this CD:

April 1999 PN 704-6657-10
May 1999 PN 704-6657-11
September 1999 PN 704-6914-10
February 2000 PN 704-7076-10

Yes call me stupid since I most likely have had them -- made a big cleanout several years ago when I moved. Now really need them since I need to support some software I write on those old release and it's nice to run it on somewhat fast boxes so shorten compilation time.

So if anybody has it plese pm me and yes I will pay for your trouble!!!

Cheers and big thanks in adv

Hmm maybe somebody knows someone or a company that has the above.. Any tip would be very nice....

I remember this problem. You had to install a pre-cd on the to the server before loading 2.5 or 2.6, almost like you were downgrading the server to take the OS release. I remember doing this :-=)

Ive got that CD in my 2.5 wallet at home. HOw does one copy a solaris cd ?? If you tell me how, can I do this via nero ? If so, I will send you a copy.

SBK

Wow  somebody that has it!!!

Yep I remember something similar -- I did a Jumpstart later on to get it going but thats such a long time ago....

You got me there with how to make a copy -- if I was under Solaris I would shut off the vold and do a copy with dd of the top scsi target that way I would get all the partitions of the CD (I assume it looks like a normal boot cd for Solaris).

But you mentioning Nero makes me think you use Windows on your home PC. A bit of googling says Nero will make a copy/clone of a Solaris 7 cd just fine. I assume there is some button for copy CD/DVD under Nero (I don't have Nero my self).

Anyways will paypal any funds needed to make the copies and send them over alternativly if you have some server you can put the ISO on thats super too. I assume you can make the ISO with Nero too :)...

Bib big thanks for helping me out..

I searched my house but could find my old solaris 2.6 stuff. I was living at home during the time I did this and most of my old SA stuff including my 2.6 folders are still there.

Will look tonight when I pop over to see her.

Thanks for looking lets hope it's at your parents place and that you didn't do what we did..

Big thanks no matter the turn out

PS: Well during one of numerous moves we tossed Solaris 2.3 all the way up to 8 (including some old SunOS 4) CD's maintenance releases, OE/HW additions and god knows what, plus a set of source code CD's.. Yea I know we shoot our self in the foot.. Didn't think it would be a time that supporting our little software on old platforms would be there..
