Solaris 10 - Unable to boot the system "panic: cannot open /kernel/amd64/unix"

Hi All,
I have installed Solaris 10 on my AMD 64 3000+ system. I was playing with grub commands eeprom and bootadm commands. I screwed my boot-file and now am unable to boot the system. Gets error msg as "panic: cannot open /kernel/amd64/unix". I booted the system is filesafe and tried update the boot-file using the eeprom. When I checked the /a/boot/platform/i86pc/kernel, there is no /amd64/unix folder and also there is no /unix. Please give me a solution apart from reinstalling the OS...

Thanks in advance..

Manjunath.

boot from cdrom to single user mode. then mount your rootfs to /a.
bootadm update-archive -R /a
umount /a
reboot -- -r

Thanks for your reply Incredible...... Unfortunately I reinstalled the Solaris 10 :frowning: I will keep this solution in my mind and I will try to screw up my system once again..... If there is any problem, as usual I will post on this forum....

Manjunath.
