Solaris 10 local zone on Solaris 11 global zone

Hi,

A quick question: Can Solaris 10 local zones be moved to a Solaris 11 global zone and work well?

Thank you in advance!

zones are sharing the same kernel... so i vote for "no". but i don't know if there is something like "branded zones" for solaris 11 which gives the feature to run solaris 10 zones... (same as running solaris 8 zones on solaris 10).

Yes, this is definitely supported by using Solaris10 branded zones.

Thanks a lot! I am going to give it a shot

The 'cpio -oP@/' is not correct. Anyone knows what it should be? Thanks.

This is working:

# find myzone -print | cpio -coP@ | gzip > /myzone.cpio.gz
