Solaris 10 install issue - "Caught Signal 11"

Rebuilding a server (T2000) from a flash archive I created on another server. Using a Solaris 10/08 DVD to boot from the was going to point it tot he flash archive and pull it over NFS. I've done this many times with success until now.

It initially boots off the DVD, you input the networking, dns, etc info then right before it takes you to the portion of the install where you layout the file system and such I get a:

Exiting (caught signal 11)
Type install-solaris to restart
Solaris installation program exited.

#

So from there if you type "install-solaris" it gives the same error.

Anyway ideas?

I've tried two different Solaris 10/08 DVD's with the same results.

do you use a ZFS filesystem (rpool) on the flash archive?

No. Not using ZFS -- UFS.

would you mind checking the firmware of the system? why dont you use the latest release of the Solaris 10 OS?

I am having exactly the same problem trying to upgrade from 10/06 to 10/09 on two separate sun fire v880 servers.

Release 4.30.4 created 2009/08/19 07:21
OBP 4.30.4 2009/08/19 07:21
POST 4.30.4 2009/08/19 07:29
OBDIAG 4.30.4 2009/08/19 07:28

Exiting (caught signal 11)
Type install-solaris to restart
Solaris installation program exited.

you get this error only when the .iso file has been disconnected from the system you are installing it on.
reconnect the .iso file, and you would be able to continue installation.
