Is there a way to install the "hpsas" btld for the hard disk controller during installation of the OS without having to use a Floppy disk, ie Pen drive or CD since newer servers do not include a floppy drive?
If so, please include specific instructions in the answer.
The problem with that is that Floppy diskettes are not available in Puerto Rico anymore and the old ones that I have will not hold the 1.44 MB size of the BTLD.
You can also use a USB cdrom and it will appear as a 2.88mb floppy drive.
It's been a long time since I did this, but I think all you need to do is copy the driver onto the cd using any MS Windows program.
Just the regular bootstring:
probably Sdsk=hpsas(0,0,0) Srom=wd(0,0,0)
Have you been able to boot the from the install cd to the point that it asks for the driver diskette? What make is the system?
It is a HP Proliant ML350 G5. The controller is a E200i. I have been able to boot from the CD all the wy to start installing but, without installing the driver, it doesn't see the HD.
