Recently, one of my Sun Box found this messages in the /var/adm/messages/
inetd[143]: /usr/dt/bin/rpc.ttdbserverd: Hangup
It had quite a number of the same message. If it related to any network issue?
What is the purpose of rpc.ttdbserverd?
Thanks

rpc.ttdserverd is a componet of Tooltalk.
It stores session ids of client sessions, responds to Tooltalk filename mapping API requests.
Since rpc.ttdserverd is started by inetd, you will find it in your /etc/inetd.conf.
On most of the places I've worked in the past years, it was commented out as there were too many security issues with Tooltalk.
