restoring mksysb backup of a clustered server configured in HACMP

Hi,

I have done NIM restoration via nim_bosinst a lot of times but I have some doubts on restoring a server which is clustered specifically HACMP. Previously, I don't know the trend but after doing a nim_bosinst, I can see the client's hostname is back to "localhost" rather than its original hostname and that there is no ip address configured. That means you need to set its IP address and hostname.

But in some cases, I do successfully restore a backup image containing its original hostname and its IP address is automatically configured. Does anyone knows how this thing happen? I am thinking it has something to do with the option "Remain NIM client after resource" and "Preserve NIM definitions for resources".

Also, for HACMP clustered system, in which it has configured a persistent IP. If you try to restore a mksysb image using NIM, will it flush out the persistent IP and you need to configure it back and at the same time do a sync and verify?
