Reset ALOM from OS

Hi guys,

I'm in trouble with a Sunfire T2000.
The OS (Solaris10) is up and running, but I can't log in the sc>I think the terminal server is crashed!

Does anyone know if I can reset the sc> from the OS?
How can I do that?

Thx

Try the following

scadm resetrsc -s

This command causes ALOM to reset immediately.

All those which you can do at SC or RSC prompt, same you can do with the scadm command / script from withing the OS.
This is not available as command infact its available as script inside the

folder . To scadm pass the argument as resetrc

..all that i can find in that folder is prtdiag, eeprom and trapstat..

Afraid to say there is no scadm on T series server, well I too was trying to locate in my one of the server and surprised to see its not there, while goolgine some post says that its not on T series server reason being you do not ALOM you have ALOM CTM and thats why you do not have scadm T series server

..great..

..but finaly i solved the problem unplugging the netmgt interface.
Probably something was going bad with that interface and when unplugged it the sc> has slowly came up and then a normal reset solved everything
..

Now everything is working good...

Cheers guys..and thank you! :b:

resetting the alom from the OS is not possible on a T2000. I've seen the issue you descripted a couple times and it looks related to the firmware version (6.7.4 or older). If you can take the system down without any issues, upgrading it to the current version (6.7.10) solves it (hopefully;-)) for the future.
