removing "/" file system from solaris volume

Hi all,

I have created a volume for the root device as d0 and the sub mirror for same is d10.

the output from metastat d0 is as below

I want to clear these volume , as i cant unmount the "/ " file system , please suggest as how can i clear this. Also the required entries are there in /etc/vfstab and /etc/system as i executed metaroot.

Thanks

This got resolved !!

I commented the /etc/vfstab entry and later run the metaroot with /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 and rebooted the system and cleared the volume with meatclear -r d0

You cannot unmount the "/" filesystem. Or you will never be able to mount it for booting. What you meant was to remove the root filesystem from SVM control right? If you had mentioned this clearly enough, the rest could have understood you better
