Print Queues

I have a print queue set up with the following options: remote, standard processing, Hostname=(A Windows 2000 Server), bsd print spooler. It takes about 1 minute to transfer a 100 kb file and it times out (downs the queue) on larger files. When tested on a different system at a different location all works fine with a 1mb file being transfered in about 1 second. What is wrong?

You are running a lpr spooler on win2k?... Sounds like something is unable to do a reverse DNS lookup or something... *shrug*...

I'd start at the DNS level and make sure your system can reverse lookup your IP and stuff...

The Win2k server is running a 3rd party software called NIPrint. This software allows you to create print queues that receive the UNIX print stream. It then creates a file with the print stream or sends it to a printer. It also sends a notification back to the UNIX print queue when the entire print stream is received.
