OS Patches installed but they seem as not installed

Hello everyone:

I've installed an OS patch into AIX 6.1 by running the following command:

instfix -d /tmp/6100-02-03 -k "IZ41855"

however it seem not installed

instfix -i -k "IZ41855"
There was no data for IZ41855 in the fix database.

what am I doing wrong?

It seems AIX 6.1 does not need the fix  not sure

I'm trying to install oracle but the installer reports such patch is required

Did you get any messages when running the instfix -d /tmp/6100-02-03 -k "IZ41855" ?
When you run it again, is there an error message?

In your other thread I answered, that it might be an easier option to have your AIX updated to the latest level instead. This is no option?

according oslevel the version is 6100-00-01-0748, how could I upgrade the AIX version?

As already mentioned, you might have a look in your former relating post and follow the link to IBM Fix Central in my answer...:

6.1 is at TL6 as of now. Probably it would be a good idea to update your system prior to installing Oracle.

To update your system go to IBMs FixDist Central, select your own level, the desired level and download what the packager program suggests. Alternatively you could ask your IBM SR to get you an upgrade disk set.

If you have a NIM server you should put the files there, create lpp_sources and install from there. If not, put all the upgrades in a temporary directory, make it your PWD and run

inutoc .

then enter

smitty install_latest

and follow the instructions.

I hope this helps.
