Openssh 6.8

Hi
im using redhat enterprise linux 7
im trying to update to the latest openssh version 6.8
i ran the command yum update openssh and this upgraded only to version 6.6
how can i update to the latest version 6.8?

thanks!

Redhat does not use the latest version of the software available. Redhat sticks to stable versions and back-port security fixes if necessary. The current version of openssh is 6.6.1p1-12.el7_1.

thanks for your reply.
is there any other linux/unix flavor that i can install openssh 6.8 on them?

Is there any particular reason you need 6.8? As stated, Redhat does back-port bugfixes, so your 6.6 will have the bugfixes, if not the features, of 6.8. It's one of the services you've paid for by getting RHEL...

Yes, there are quite a few distributions that care more about providing `bleeding edge' software, that the stability a more conservative enterprise grade distro like RedHad provides.

Fedora 22 is an example.

You can find out for yourself. This link has many of the popular Linux distros. Click on the right site distro link and then scroll down the page to the packages provided on each version.
