NIC configuration - link_* vs lp_*

Hi,
I have a question and i would love for help.
When i ran the command "kstat -p bge:0" i get the configuration of bge0.
The question is what is the differences between let's say bge0:parameters:link_autoneg vs bge0:parameters:lp_autoneg_cap

I saw in few documentation that lp refer the "Link Partner" which is switch for example, but it's not clear what/who is "link"
Thanks,
Ran

Welcome!
I see you have got Solaris.
According to https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19620-01/805-4449/6j47dm3ie/index.html
lp_ means link partner e. g. the LAN switch where it's connected to.

Hi Madlen,
Thanks for the answers.
I refer in the link that you published, and now it's clear to me.
link_autoneg - Current operational mode
lp_autoneg_cap - the capability of the switch.
adv_autoneg_cap - My interface card capability.

Thanks again for your support.
Ran

I think link_autoneg should always be 1 == enabled.
Don't know if it can be forced to 0 and if this could make sense at all.
