Ls -al shows total 948 how do i see the files

I am trying to restore b2evolution blogs from media subdirectory
my ls -al shows this output
total 8
but only list two lines
. and
..
how do i see the 6 files.

There are no additional 6 files. The total 8 is the count of allocated 1k blocks. You can prove that by supplying the -s option to ls .

Where do the 948 in the thread title come from?
