Limitations on the partition of linux

Hi,

I need a documentation about limitations on the linux partition. On how many primary and extended I could create. And also on different type of storage, how many big capacity I can create.

generally you can have 4 primary partitions per physical disk. However, you can "exchange" the 4th primary (and it is more common to do so) to create a container for logical partitions which is the extended partition.

Limitations on file systems will relate to each individual file system type.

What partitions you create depends on what your setup is. There aren't significant limitations on partitions for a modern PC.
