KDE 3.1.1 - Disabling Window Decorations

Hi,

I am currently running KDE 3.1.1 under SuSE Linux 8.2 pro.

I am trying to run an aterm with all window decorations disabled.

Is there a way to anyones knowledge of disabling window decorations for a *single* window - i.e. not have the settings apply to all windows.

I've googled and searched kde.org to no avail. I've also looked through the available KDE documentation and looked at ~.kde/share/config/kwinrc but can see nothing relevant.

Any ideas?
Thanks in anticipation

hmmm i dont think you can, or it depends on your window manager. i know with window maker you can do it, i used to use window maker and thats what iw ould do with me x(a)terms.

i use kde now and i like it, and i use kdes native window manager. you could use window maker (or another wm that supports this) though to achieve your goal.

Thanks, I might have a look into window maker, as this is the kind of effect I want to achieve (transparent borderless aterms tailing /var/log/messages, etc.....)

I also use the default KDE window manager at present.

Thanks again

if you go to kdelook.org and look at some of the aqua with drop shadow window decorations, you can get rid of window borders except for the top tool bar with the close maximize and minimize (or however you have it set up) buttons. but as for ALL window borders i dont know how to do it with kde's window manager.

I've downloaded and installed a couple of Aqua decoration sets, and am very happy with the result, thanks!

I use SuSE 8.2 Professional, which uses a non default KDE theme location. Now, I forgot to set the --prefix during configure, alas, but just moving the stuff from /usr/local/kde/blah to /opt/kde3/blah done the trick
