ip network connectivity with novell

Hi,

I would like to know how i can setup my unix computer to connect to novell. Anybody any idea?

as far as i know there are some ways to get it done. (didn't try one but have foudn solutions on sites etc. ). on novell site there are a few programs to setup up your own nds tree on linux (last time i checked there i could download it for free). i found out that caldera with a very old distribution has a special program for it.

or search on freshmeat (Best Open Source Mac Software Development Software 2023 ). and you find a client.

What I saw I lot of times during compiling a new kernel was that you have to insert novel-support into the kernel (make menu/xconfig and search thru the network-sections for novel/ipx).

Also there is a howto for ipx ... Maybe that helps you

http://www.ibiblio.org/mdw/HOWTO/IPX-HOWTO.html

the specified HOWTO is based on Linux. Unfortunately this doesn't work in UNIX Release V4.00. Does anybody have an other suggestion?

maybe you could specify exactly which unix you have?

It could make things more easy when the people would write their os with version (eg. solaris 7, aix 5l, ..) in their posts

I have Unix V4.00, SunOS 5.7 and Solaris 1.3. Is this enough information?
