IP Masking

Is it possible for a internal LAN to mask a IP e.g. i have a server ip running the intranet ip being 192.168.0.8 and i want to make that like www.intranet.com is this possible on a internal network ?

yes, there are two main ways to do it. if this is a large network, then you will set up an internal DNS server. if this is a small network, ( ~ 30 machines, after that its not too practicle any more. this number is reduced quickely if the IP you want to map to www.intranet.com will change often, ((read: at all)))

continuing, if this is a small network you can just put that entry in the /etc/hosts file in all your systems.
