Hi ,
I hav a laptop with Vista, i need to install Ubuntu along with vista on it. But the problem is tht i donot hav a hard drive partition. though i have abt 70 gb of free space. the only other partition is "recovery" one, so i cnt play with it
how shld i perform the installation ??
I have a similar situation and I didn't bother to touch Vista. I just run linux in a vmware session.
In vista we have the option to shrink C drive(No data loss or damage),after doing that u will get new partition then install ubuntu on it.
steps to shrink C drive :
open computer management by right click on my computer and select "manage"
select "disk management" in the left panel and right click on C drive in right panel and select shrink. Now C drive will become half of the drive size after click ok.Now install on new partition.
You can easily install Ubuntu in a dual-boot configuration by using WUBI (Wubi - Ubuntu Installer for Windows). Your choice: Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu.
