I want to install unix in vmware on windows 7. Is it possible. please suggest. If so were can i get the OS(unix).
Which Unix? Linux, (Open)Solaris, *BSD are known to be working fine. AIX, HP-UX, and other Unices that required special processors won't work without an emulator.
Hi thanks for responding. I need to install Linux.The main thing is I need to practice Oracle in unix environment. Please suggest.
What's there left to suggest?
Install VMware Workstation or VirtualBox. Create a new Linux VM. Tell it to use the installation ISO in the virtual CD/DVD drive. Install Linux distribution of choice. Install either the InstantClient (if you already have a DB server) or the Express Edition (if you need a DB to experiment with). Both have plenty of documentation associated with it for installation and usage.
