please can you help me crack this....
i have an hp-ux server which when after booting it does not completely boot to graphical. it stops aa black screen with only an hour glass showing.
at this stage only the mouse responds but the keyboard does not respond.
any idea to find out why the OS stops here and nothing works?

Your best bet is to boot single user, What HP-UX is this?

Single user mode did not work.
Any ideas of how to boot into single user mode.
I am trying to install using Ignite Server.....any suggestions would be appreciated

A console would display straight away.. and you could break the init process�
X environment comes up at level 3� and if there is something corrupt in level 2 or 3 you have quite a problem�
We used to be able to connect to console via lan console but I don't know on new equipment...
