How to shutdown Power Trust UPS Monitoring?

Hi,

We had a HP Power Trust UPS connected to our HP Server using HP Unix 11. The UPS has died, and been taken off the server. The / filesystem runs out off space (100% full) as a core file is made in /etc/opt/resmon. The core file mentions monitoring of the UPS. Removing this file, another one is created immediately. EMS Monitoring is currently disabled. Any one know where else to shut down this UPS Monitoring?

I don't off hand know anything of the application, but I suspect that it would likely have been started during the system's start-up.

Check the /etc/rc.log for where the application is started perhaps.
Then from there you might be able to stop it.

Hope that helps some.

Cheers,
Cam

Change to /etc/opt/resmon/monitors and inspect your *.config files.
You may find something there to assist.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Cam

Thanks Cameron,

In inittab, there's this line ems4:3456:respawn:/etc/opt/resmon/lbin/p_client
I'm going to try reming it out, and see.
