Hi,
I am a beginner user for Solaris
i have downloaded Oracle Solaris 11.2 Live Media USB (x86) (V46249-01)
from the web site
I have tried many ways to install it as secondary OS to learn how to use it
But , i could not
please any one can help me and show how to install it using a usb-driver
my computer is lenovo B590 I3 with 04 Go RAM
thanks in advance
Please give more details about what you tried and what failed, if anything.
Try running it under a virtual machine, such as VirtualBox.
While this is a safe workaround, I wouldn't suggest going that way so soon.
Running Solaris 11.2 on bare metal will provide, if the hardware is supported, a better performance and also allow kernel zones which is a major Solaris 11.2 new feature.
i have tried with oracl virtual box and got this error message : long term is not supported
also, i can not create bootbale usb inordre to install solaris on my computer as beside my win8.1
i have used many softs like : refus, LinuxLive USB Creator 2.9.1, live-usb-install-2.5.6 ...
thx
