How to install Solaris 10 5/09 on sparc T4-1?

hi everyone,

good day to all.
I need help to fix an issue which we encounter while installing the Alcatel -lucent 5620 NM on a solaris 10 OS.

The Alcatel lucent 5620 NM release 9 software is only recommended OS to work with Solaris 10 release 5/09 but when we try to install the same version of Solaris we encounter the error"NO DISK AVAILABLE"

Then when we tried to install the next supportable release which is Solaris 10 release 8/11 and we installed the application on it, when we try to launch the software,we get the error "COULD NOT INITIALIZE SECURITY LAYER"

Based on this we assume that this could be incompatibility between the application and the Solaris OS.

If someone can guide me to install the solaris 10 5/09 on SPARC T4-1 server,it would be very helpful.

Thank you,
Anjo

Hi,

Do you have the Solaris 10 5/09 installation media, or are you looking for a copy of the OS.

hi,
thanks for your quick reply.

i have the installation media but during the installation it says "NO DISK AVAILABLE" and exiting the installation .

Hi,

Can you post the actual screen output, I'm making the assumption here that you are just trying a bare metal install of the OS.

So if you could capture what happens after the install has started;

boot cdrom

Hi,

From what I am seeing it seems like you have a single 300Gb SAS drive in the T4, so there should be disk available.

Am I correct in the assumption that the T4 has nothing installed at all?

Regards

Gull04

The minimum supported Solaris versions for a T4 server are:

Actually it is equipped with 2x300 gb SAS HDD and presently T4 it is installed with SOlaris 10 8/11.

---------- Post updated at 10:37 PM ---------- Previous update was at 10:33 PM ----------

i have tried the following version of Oracle Solaris 10 09/10 , but when start "boot cdrom"
it was giving error omething like "the media does n't have valid OS" .

is it possible to provide me the link to download "Oracle Solaris 10 09/10 (U9)".

Thanks .

If you want to install U9 on the server, you have to apply patches to the software image... This is not an easy task... Maybe you should just use the latest version of Solaris.
