How to check physical memory

HI

Please help me how to check the physical memory, model name and hardisk information.

prtconf and uname -a may give u some info......

Hi

currently I have the below model....

[root@bdsn4036:/root]
# uname -a
SunOS bdsn4036 5.8 Generic_117350-33 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-880

I want to upgrade the memory 8GB and 2 more cpus.. Is it possible to upgarde?

System Configuration: Sun Microsystems sun4u
Memory size: 4096 Megabytes
System Peripherals (Software Nodes):

# psrinfo -v
Status of processor 0 as of: 07/20/06 21:38:23
Processor has been on-line since 05/24/06 11:41:14.
The sparcv9 processor operates at 750 MHz,
and has a sparcv9 floating point processor.
Status of processor 2 as of: 07/20/06 21:38:23
Processor has been on-line since 05/24/06 11:41:03.
The sparcv9 processor operates at 750 MHz,
and has a sparcv9 floating point processor.

[root@bdsn4036:/root]
# uname -a
SunOS bdsn4036 5.8 Generic_117350-33 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-880

That would be no problem. The 880 can take up to 8 cpu and at least 16GB of memory. You could check the Sun system handbook at their website for more info also - part numbers and so on.

/usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/prtdiag
prtconf -v

format < /dev/null

and yes, your upgrades are possible.

Thanks to all...
