This sucks becuase our company allowed us to use AOL aim, i was able to use winmx and now I am so locked down that I cant do any other that! I believe we might be going tru a firewall that blocks all this..i am sure there are ports open which I can use..can anobyd suggest me any workarounds??THIS SUCKS!!!
yes, most of companies worldwide block the ports for not allowing anonymous internet usage or more to known as violate the service. do you like your employee to sit around and listen to musics and chat all the day. Sure no one likes that. If you ask a workaround the answer could or might be within the administrative power. Check with your System or Network Administator for which ports that are allowed and violation rule for using any of the ports.
If you are like I am and are lacking in the "technical skills" department, but at the same time, miss using WinMX, there is a quick, easy and free solution it is called MXPIE. There is no spyware or anything else bundled with it. For those a little more savvy and courageous, there is even a manual option.
So come on back to WinMX, and download to your hearts content. Thanks to these updates, not even the power of the RIAA can stop a network.
IF you have downloaded WinMX and still cannot connect, you can even get personalized realtime help.
