The Generic Grid Broker component acts as ameta-scheduler sitting on top of existing Gridmiddleware (such as Globus Toolkit, gLite, orUNICORE). Its role is to intelligently schedulethe execution of jobs on the Grid with efficientand optimized management of resources. Forexample, as the Globus Toolkit cannot select byitself a remote resource on which to submit thejob, it has to implement a meta-scheduler forhandling some high-level decisions.
