Error messages in /var/adm

Hi,

I get this messages in my /var/adm/messages can you please tell me the reason for recieving this kind of messages and how to debug?

Admin 2418029 Error: Host port combo with host [kolkatta-gateway]. Unable to resolve name
Tools 2206121 Error: ERROR.. gethostbyname() failed for [tmmbgw11] errno [1]

Check the hosts line in /etc/nsswitch.conf. But it is more likely that /etc/resolv.conf is wrong.

U must check,

#hostname
#/etc/hosts or /etc/inet/hosts
#/etc/hostname.<any interface>
#/etc/resolve.conf
#/etc/nsswitch.conf

entries should b correct names or values, otherwise u vll face this type of problems.
After that also u r facing same problem means u can check DNS confiuration trough #nslookup
