EdX - Founded by Harvard University and MIT in 2012

Is anyone actively learning, auditing or participating (for credit) at edX?

There are some really great science and engineering programs there and they are all free to audit. For example, take a look at these classes related to:

C Programming

Quantum Physics

Computer Science

Math

Just amazing.....

I am currently auditing about 8 courses, LOL ... it keeps me from watching the news and wasting time.

Anyone else on edX?

Not now, but this is an excellent suggestion. I need something to keep me from becoming an analphabetic senile old man.

Watching regularily your presidents latest antics i can relate to that. If there ever is a need for an anti-antidepressive, then Trump is it.

This morning, I'm auditing this course:

Introduction to the Schrdinger Equation and Quantum Transport

https://courses.edx.org/courses/course-v1:PurdueX+69503x+3T2018/course/

It's really well done. I've given up watching the news and wasting time on social media.

Over time, I'll post all the classes I'm auditing here.

In addition, I have signed up for a number of classes which start later this month or next month.

I'll post the entire list soon.

One of the great things with edX is that when the classes are active, students can interact in chat rooms and discuss the lectures and homework.

Maybe someday we at unix.com can take some classes together?

That would be fun I think!

Auditing this course as well:

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

https://courses.edx.org/courses/course-v1:ColumbiaX+CSMM.101x+3T2018/course/

The course above is part of the AI MicroMasters program:

https://www.edx.org/micromasters/columbiax-artificial-intelligence

EDIT: So far, this course [ Artificial Intelligence (AI) ] is not well done and the lecturer is of poor quality compared to other edX courses I am auditing.

In contrast, Introduction to the Schrdinger Equation and Quantum Transport is great and the lecturer is very good and clearly knows the topic very well.

Now auditing at 1.5x speed replay:

Programming for the Web with JavaScript

https://courses.edx.org/courses/course-v1:PennX+SD4x+2T2017/course/

It's actually pretty good at 1.5x speed. The lecturer is good and the course is well done. I skipped the "intro to web programming" part and went straight to the Javascript lessons.

Even though I already program JS, I have learned a few new things already in the first module.

Recommended for sure if you wan to learn Javascript.

EDIT: Wow... I'm 1/3 of the way thru this class. If you are interested to learn Javascript, I highly recommend this course. It's free to audit!
