Does Solaris Volume Manager support USB flash drives?

I would like to mirror or stripe across multiple USB flash drives on a Sun Blade 100 workstation running Solaris 10. Thanks!

are you trying to do what windows vista does with the thumb drives and stuff???

just wondering here... why would you do this?

I just want to practice the SVM for SCSA study.

Meaning, you don't want to remove the USB after you perform th mirror?
Never heard of nayone doing this:(
Not sure if its "supported" under Solaris

I hope to find out if it works soon. At this point, I just want to see if SVM sees the flash device as a disk or volume.

I suppose it will see the USB flash as only a volume. Can't be a disk.

Didn't seem to work. I think it's because the flash drive gets mounted right away, and you can't create volumes on it. If the flash is unmounted, the device file goes away and you can't create volumes again.

I just realized that I can create virtual disks on my virtual machines, and SVM is working fine on those. So now I don't need flash drives.
