they're the same. booting procedures are the same for ALL Solaris OS
Booting procedure actually differ between x86 and SPARC based Solaris platforms.
On x86, booting procedure had a major change starting from Solaris 10 update 1 (previously proprietary now GRUB based).
It also evolved recently on both architectures with the support of ZFS root. S10u6.
