Could not chdir to home directory : I/O error

When I login to Solaris 8 server I am getting the below error message

Could not chdir to home directory /users/test: I/O error

: ls /users/test
/users/test: I/O error

Previously I am able to login to server without any issue. Only now I am facing this error.

From which disk is "/users/test" created...?

Output of "df -h /users" pleaz...

There's your error:

c1t4d0 Soft Errors: 0 Hard Errors: 2023 Transport Errors: 0
Vendor: SEAGATE Product: ST336605FSUN36G Revision: 0438 Serial No:

Media Error: 0 Device Not Ready: 2023 No Device: 0 Recoverable: 0
Illegal Request: 0 Predictive Failure Analysis: 0

2023 Hard errors, 2023 Device Not Ready errors, and a reported size that's impossible. I'd say that disk is going to hardware heaven.

Hi pludi,

Is there any way to recover the error message.

Kalai
